TRANSFERS TO ITALY: Erik Huseklepp will join Italian side AS Bari.
Brann and AS Bari has agreed a fee for attacker Erik Huseklepp.
The 26 year old has been in the spotlight of several clubs after solid performances both domestic and international. Now, a deal has been agreed on the transfer deadline day.
Monday, Huseklepp left Brann's training camp in Turkey to meet up with Bari representatives in Italy. At the same time, the clubs have agreed upon an undisclosed fee.
Huseklepp, who has indicated that he wanted a new challenge, will put pen to paper on a three and a half year deal with the Italian side. Huseklepp will join AS Bari with immediate effect.
"We've listened to Erik's wishes. The club's sporting and financial situation has also been a factor. After a total evaluation the club's board has decided to accept the offer," Brann's managing director Roald Bruun-Hanssen states.
Huseklepp signed for Brann from local lower division side Fyllingen in the summer of 2005. He made an immediate impact, scoring only a few seconds into his home debut against Fredrikstad. Huseklepp has scored 35 goals in 165 official matches for Brann.
His definitive breakthrough came in 2009, when scoring 15 goals in 30 league matches for Brann. Last season, he scored 10 goals in 30 league matches. He has also made his mark on the national side, scoring four goals in 2010, against France (2), Portugal and Ireland.
This is the second transfer of deadline day at Brann. Tijan Jaiteh will join Danish side Randers FC on loan out 2011.
